We are proud to announce that Dexter is part of a large smart grid pilot in Rotterdam.  Together with online supermarket Picnic and energy company ENGIE we will help integrating Picnic’s energy-related assets, including 160 PEV’s (Picnic Electric Vehicle’s). Dexter’s task is to build the intelligence of the smart grid.

Using machine learning algorithms, Dexter is able to forecast loads and energy prices and optimally dispatch flexible assets.  One example is the smart charging of the PEV fleet. Key aspect in the project will be the unlocking of storage potential of the Picnic EV’s. The vehicles will directly or indirectly store, deliver and consume electricity in moment when called upon. On a mini grid level, this pilot will help solve some of the most challenging aspects of the energy transition.
